Derek has been involved with Health and Fitness for nearly his entire life; including playing Sports through the College Level, competing in numerous Bodybuilding Competitions, Weight Training, Program Design, Personal Training, Fitness/Life Coaching, Contest Preparation, Owning and Managing Gyms, and Owning and Managing Nutrition Stores! If you want to know the best way to climb a mountain, ask someone who travels the path daily! He has traveled the path daily for 30+ years and enjoys showing others the way!


He has trained countless clients, and has extensive knowledge in all of the necessary aspects to assist you in reaching YOUR Fitness and LIFE Goals!

Growing up, I was introduced at an early age to the benefits and joy of leading an active and healthy lifestyle. That joy led me to playing many sports and earning a college scholarship for volleyball. Post college, I was fortunate to play volleyball overseas and discover more deeply my passion to help others with their health and fitness lifestyle.
My passion is to truly help you be the best that you can be in all aspects of life; mentally, physically, spiritually. I believe that with proper guidance, discipline, and a positive attitude, that YOU can succeed. I aim to show you this and help you reach your goals.


Today, I am fortunate to work full-time as a Fitness Lifestyle Coach. My programs include a 16-Week Body Transformation Program, Group Training, Bootcamp Class, Individual Nutrition and Exercise Programming, and Foundations to Fitness Youth Class. I would love to help you on your journey.

Alecia Gordon

I’ve led an active lifestyle and have been very passionate about health and wellness my entire life. I began to learn about nutrition at an early age and encouraged my parents to eat healthier. When I was a kid, I used to ask my mom to buy me spinach :) I continue to read and study and learn more about nutrition and exercise each day. It is fascinating to me!


I am very fortunate to be able to work in the Health and Wellness Industry and to train my clients at a very special place called 970Muscle! What I absolutely love about our Facility is that everyone feels welcome… All ages and all fitness levels!! I am committed to helping my clients become healthier and to reach their fitness goals! I love to show people that age is just a number and that you can feel great and can be in the best shape of your life at any age! I am especially fond of seniors! We are all going to get older, but we do not have to become frail or sick. We can stay active, feel great and enjoy life well into our senior years!

My father introduced me to the weight room at 11 years old and I haven’t let a barbell go since! Being obsessed and captivated by strength and being yoked at a young age I took an interest in Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, Strongman and just general Hard and Heavy Training. This has led me to compete in Highland Games and Powerlifting. No rest for the wicked, I set my sights on furthering my strength and physique goals by competing in more Powerlifting Meets, Strongman and Bodybuilding.


The body cannot reach its full potential if the mind is not mastered. Willpower and Discipline are stronger than any muscle! Heavy Duty Strength is more than just moving massive weight. More than setting 1-rep maxes or toiling in the gym for hours on end increasing numbers. Become a stronger, more satisfied you; demolish preconceived notions and become boundless! Whatever strength is in you, we'll find it together, through discipline, hard work and true grit. Become a believer in yourself!

I have been very active in sports and fitness the majority of my life, but as I have gotten older I realized how nutrition played an important role to fuel our bodies. Over the years I have trained for Bodybuilding Shows, and now have transitioned into using Fitness and Nutrition to THRIVE in the best way possible while also empowering others to do the same! My purpose is to combine both Fitness and Nutrition, not only to get results, but to teach how to feed our bodies properly. I love being able to find a lifestyle that is both maintainable and most importantly adds value to our lives. Whether it's being able to hike better, get in shape, or simply being able to play with your grandchildren; It's my duty to help find your fitness journey.

Full of energy, genuine person with a contagious positive attitude. I love the mindset, lifestyle and nutrition side of fitness and helping people fall in love with making it a lifestyle. With a Bachelors in Kinesiology with a specialty in the physical therapy and rehabilitation of injuries, I attended Colorado Mesa University. I’ve been personal training for five years and absolutely love my job. I can literally modify anything you need. Archery and the outdoors is another passion of mine whether its fishing, snowshoeing, hiking you name it. Chance Sidebottom

Physical activity has been a part of my life for as long as I could remember. I practically grew up in cleats playing every sport you could imagine. For me sports were about more than physical activity. Growing up being a part of team and leading people to be the best version of themselves was always my true calling. From the first time, I laced up my cleats to the last time I competed in an athletic event I was always the captain or a co-captain. Once graduating high school, the next adventure of my life was all about how I could use my skills to better the lives of others. I received my Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, started working at General Nutrition Center and began helping people truly live life to their fullest.
For me, it’s more than just how a workout or a supplement can temporarily help someone. It’s about digging down to the root cause of a person’s needs. After nearly six years with GNC, I was approached with opportunity of a lifetime. As a member of 970Muscle it is our mission and has always been mine to help others live and love life. By leading others down the path of being their best, it has lead me down my own path of being my best. I continue to grow, learn, and everyday develop a deeper passion for truly understanding and making a difference in people’s lives. Not to mention, I am doing all this while obtaining my undergraduate degree in Certified Public Accounting through Colorado Mesa University. It doesn’t stop their either, at the end of 2016 I received my Personal Training Certificate through International Sports Science Association. I will continue to pursue knowledge and personal growth until the day I can no longer pass it onto the lives of others. At twenty-three years young, this is just the beginning of my journey.

Reece Stanley

Reece has always had a passion for helping people reach their untapped potential. After attending Colorado Mesa University and obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Sport Management, Reece pursued fitness lifestyle coaching.
He competitively plays beach volleyball doubles. Amongst his top accomplishments in the sport, his partner and he won their division in the largest amateur beach volleyball tournament in the world at Seaside Oregon in 2014. Reece also enjoys competing in Men’s Physique competitions and has competed at the National level.
He believes that health and wellness doesn’t include just physical fitness, but also growth in an individual’s mental and spiritual strength. Whether in his role as a youth coach or a fitness lifestyle coach, he has primarily worked alongside athletes and fitness competitors. He has a passion for helping individuals reach performance and transformation goals.
Reece also works as a full time professional fire fighter, allowing him the opportunity to help others in need.
He strives to develop a professional relationship with each client where he goes above and beyond to guarantee a wonderful experience.

Brandy Elliss

I grew up in Colorado and found as a child I loved activities that helped me to stay active, fit, strong, and healthy. Hiking, hunting, fishing and roaming the mountains of Southwest Colorado were a normal part of my young life. I also played a multitude of sports through high school and continued staying active and competitive in college through intramural sports and fitness training. I have continued this active lifestyle ever since, including competing in bodybuilding competitions, powerlifting meets, and many obstacle races. I am a very competitive and driven individual who likes to push myself and others.
I obtained by BA in Psychology Counseling and my Juris Doctorate in Law. I then spent 12 years in the practice of law in Colorado. However, I decided to pursue something that I was truly passionate about and became a Fitness Coach. I am so thrilled to be able to help others on their own fitness journey, assisting and encouraging them to see all that they are capable of accomplishing—both physically and nutritionally. I love Jesus and believe that we can do ALL THINGS through Christ!
I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have been given to work out of 970Muslce, there is not better facility or members anywhere! ACTIVE... That's the life I've been living for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the day when riding my bike, walking, or running to where I needed to go was just routine. Swimming, golf, indoor & outdoor activities with family & friends, casual group games of kickball, baseball, hopscotch or just good old run around the neighborhood helped shape the desire to live a healthy, active life. Organized sports were for the boys, so synchronized swimming was my sport in high school. Over the years, I've kept an active life and become more interested in getting to the gym to stay in shape, thanks to an encouraging push from my son & daughter, who are both Fitness Coaches.
HEALTH/NUTRITION... I've been on this journey for 30+ years. I started taking healthy food supplements when there were very few choices on the market. I've learned a lot over the years about the value of reading supplement and food labels and also enjoy reading books and articles on health & nutrition. A healthy diet is something I've worked on over the years, trying to keep our 3 kids on a healthy track as they grew up. Following a healthy nutrition plan continues to be part of my daily routine. I love that I can continue to study and learn about a field that is changing everyday!
RELATIONSHIPS...this is my passion and what I believe I was created for... #1 a relationship with God and out of this a relationship with others.

Being a part of the 970Muscle Team, gives me an opportunity to reach out to those around me, helping them as well as letting them help me!

Joseph Kuta

As a young kid I was known as "Little Joey" and even into High School I was 120 pounds soaking wet. I ran Cross-Country and played Basketball. I hated lifting weights, it made no sense to me at the time. When I was 27 I found a YouTube video of a 40 year old dad trying to get his Pro-Card in Bodybuilding. He talked about nutrition, lifting weights, discipline, and balance. Immediately I told my wife "I want to be a Bodybuilder". Fast forward five years and I've competed in Men's Physique Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and multiple 5k Mud Runs. Not to mention I'm also a father of a four-year-old now. It is never too late to start this journey. The rewards are filled with health, happiness, and meeting new people with amazing stories!

I have always loved competitive sports in school, but after several knee injuries and 6 surgeries by the time I was 25, my ortho doctor told me I was pretty much done with sports indefinitely. I was already going to the gym with my husband on a routine basis at the time, but the competitive factor I loved was missing. After having my daughter, my husband and I decided to compete in a bodybuilding show. This was the competitive edge I was looking for and have since competed in a total of 3 shows! My fitness journey has only just begun and my goals are always changing as I continually adapt to changes in life. Balance with family, work, and a healthy lifestyle is always possible because we make time for what's important to us. My favorite part of 970Muscle is bringing my daughter to the gym with us to work out. She will grow up knowing that a healthy lifestyle and getting stronger is the "norm" and we're the only ones that can make it happen for ourselves. Outside of the gym, I am a Registered Nurse at a local pediatric office and am a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM.

To say that I have always been involved in Health and Fitness wouldn't be that true..Yes, I was a kid that played street basketball in D.C. and Denver. Parents loved Basketball and Football. Dad was in the school band and Mom was a cheerleader. But, when I hit the real real world into college, Basketball took a backseat for me. Was much easier to cram for tests and exams if I didn't leave the house. Then from that, became depressed and started to get unhealthy in life. Now telling a 20yr old James, "hey man all you need to do, is get back to what you love..." If you aren't listening, you cant hear..I actually sat at in a hotel one summer while the entire family went to Sea World. Fast Forward to 2002, when I took my life back. Focused on one credo, "It's never too late to become what you could've been..."Since then I have pushed myself, and can come from the aspect and the perception of being that guy in the weight room with no clue, being that guy in the group class or small group that had no idea what was going on. Now that is my drive. To match Members and Clients 100% and give all of myself and have them leave better than they came to me.
